Xiaomi may launch Redmi 4A at INR 5999

Chinese smartphone vendor Xiaomi is planning to launch an ultra cheap smartphone in Indian market. Xiaomi may soon launch their cheapest smartphone Redmi 4A at INR 5999(USD 90) only.

Basically Xiaomi launches two types of smartphones in Indian market. Mi is their flagship line up and Redmi is their budget segment. When Xiaomi entered India they launched Redmi 1S at INR 5999 which was a revolutionary attemp but the successors of Redmi 1S like Redmi 2/Prime, Redmi 3S started at a price of  INR 6999 that is INR 1000 higher.

Last year Xiaomi launched Redmi 4A in China. Though their is nothing official but we may expect this smartphone to be launched by the end of March. Redmi 4A bears a 5" HD display with metal unibody having a thickness of 8.5 mm. The display has a contract ratio of 1100:1 and covers 72℅ NTSC color gamut which is very impressive. It is a hybrid dual SIM smartphone with 4G, VoLTE support and has connnectivity options like Bluetooth 4,1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi hotspot, FM Radio, USB OTG, IR blaster and 3.5 mm audio jack. There is a secondary mic for active noise cancellation. This device is powered by 64 bit 1.4 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 CPU along with 500 MHz Adreno 308 GPU backed by 2 GB of LPDDR3 667 MHz Single Channel RAM. It has a native storage of 16 GB which is expandable up to 128 GB via 2nd SIM slot. This phone is sailing on MIUI 8.0 based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. For optics there is 13 MP Auto Focus camera with f/2.2 aperture accompanied by dual LED flash in rear and for selfies there is a 5 MP Fixed Focus camera with f/2.2 aperture but there is no selfie flash. Camera performance is above average not so impressive but more than sufficient specially at this cheap price. Both cameras can record videos up to 1080P Full HD resolution @ 30 FPS which is also good. Sadly there is no fingerprint sensor but accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and compass sensors are present. It is fuled by a large 3120 mAh Li-Polymer non removable battery which is sufficient for one day heavy usage.
