Redmi 4, Redmi 4X & Redmi 4 Prime are coming soon.

After Redmi 4A now we can expect Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime to be launched​ in India. Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime will be the successors of last year's Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime.



Xiaomi has opened its second manufacturing unit in India with Foxcon. According to Xiaomi now thay can produce 1smartphone/second during working hours in India. Xiaomi will be focusing on 'Make in India' smartphones.

Now lets have a look in to the in-depth specifications of Redmi 4 and Redmi 4X and Redmi 4 Prime.

Redmi 4: Redmi 4 has a 5" HD display with 2.5D curved glass. This smartphone is covered by metal unibody having a thickness of 8.9 mm. The device weighs 156 g. The display has a contract ratio of 1100:1 and covers 72℅ NTSC color gamut which is very impressive. This is a hybrid dual SIM smartphone with 4G, VoLTE support and has connnectivity options like Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi hotspot, FM Radio, USB OTG, IR blaster and 3.5 mm audio jack. There is a secondary mic for active noise cancellation. This device is powered by 64 bit 1.4 GHz octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 CPU along with 450 MHz Adreno 505 GPU backed by 2 GB of LPDDR3 800 MHz Single Channel RAM. It has a native storage of 16 GB which is expandable up to 128 GB via 2nd SIM slot. This phone is sailing on MIUI 8.0 based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. For optics there is a 13 MP Auto Focus camera with f/2.2 aperture accompanied by dual LED flash in rear and for selfies there is a 5 MP Fixed Focus camera with f/2.2 aperture but there is no selfie flash. Camera performance is above average. Both cameras can record videos up to 1080P Full HD resolution @ 30 FPS. Redmi 4 has fingerprint sensor just under the rear camera sensor. There are accelerometer, gyroscope, hall, proximity and compass sensors in the device. Redmi 4 is fueled by a large 4100 mAh Li-Polymer non removable battery which is sufficient for almost two day usage.

Redmi 4 will be available in three colors: Grey, gold and silver. Price of  Redmi 4 is INR 6,999($110).

Redmi 4X: Redmi 4X is 8.65 mm thick and it weighs 150 g. Redmi 4X is powered by 64 bit 1.4 GHz octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 CPU along with 450 MHz Adreno 505 GPU backed by 2/3 GB of LPDDR3 800 MHz Single Channel RAM. Native storage of Redmi 4x is 16/32 GB which is expandable up to 128GB via 2nd SIM card slot. Redmi 4X has a better 13MP rear camera as compared to Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 & Redmi 4 Prime. Redmi 4X has 13 MP rear camera with large f/2.0 aperture which helps to capture more light. Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 and Redmi Prime has 13 MP rear camera with smaller f/2.2 aperture. Redmi 4X does not have hall sensor like Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime but has latest bluetooth 4.2 feature. Other specifications of Redmi 4X are just same as Redmi 4 that is why I did not mention them.

Redmi 4 Prime: Redmi 4 Prime is the most powerful smartphone in Redmi series. Redmi 4 Prime has a 5" Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass protection. The display has a contract ratio of 1100:1 and covers 72℅ NTSC color gamut which is very impressive. This smartphone weighs just 156 g and does have a thickness of 8.9 mm. Redmi 4 Prime is powered by 64 bit 2.0 GHz octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 CPU based on 14 nm architectura along with 650 MHz Adreno 506 GPU backed by 3 GB of LPDDR3 933 MHz Single Channel RAM. Native storage of Redmi 4X is 32GB which is expandable up to 128GB via 2nd SIM card slot. This device has latest bluetooth 4.2 feature. Rest of the specs are just same as Redmi 4.

Redmi 4 Prime will be available in gray, gold and silver colors. Price of Redmi 4 Prime is INR 8,999($140).
