We are probably the first who told you that Xiaomi would launch its ultra-cheap smartphone Redmi 4A in India @ INR 5,999 or USSD 90. So as we told earlier Xiaomi finally launched Redmi 4A in India and it will be available exclusively on Amazon.in and Mi.com. There will be flash sales on both sites on 23 March. Users do not need to register for the sale.
According to Xiaomi 95% of Redmi 4A units are manufactured in India under the 'Make in India' initiative. Redmi 4A will be available in rose gold, gold & dark gray colors.
Redmi 4A bears a 5" HD display with metal unibody having a thickness of 8.5 mm. The display has a contrast ratio of 1100:1 and covers 72℅ NTSC color gamut which is very impressive but Xiaomi did not confirm any kind of display protection for Redmi 4A and sadly the three navigation buttons are not backlit. This is a hybrid dual SIM smartphone with 4G, VoLTE support and has connnectivity options like Bluetooth 4,1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi hotspot, FM Radio, USB OTG, IR blaster and 3.5 mm audio jack. There is a secondary mic for active noise cancellation. This device is powered by 64 bit 1.4 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 CPU along with 500 MHz Adreno 308 GPU backed by 2 GB of LPDDR3 667 MHz Single Channel RAM. It has a native storage of 16 GB which is expandable up to 128 GB via 2nd SIM slot. This phone is sailing on MIUI 8.0 based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. For optics there is 13 MP Auto Focus camera with f/2.2 aperture accompanied by dual LED flash in rear and for selfies there is a 5 MP Fixed Focus camera with f/2.2 aperture but there is no selfie flash. Camera performance is not so impressive but more than sufficient specially at this cheap price. Both cameras can record videos up to 1080P Full HD resolution @ 30 FPS which is also good. Sadly there is no fingerprint sensor and compass sensor but accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and sensors are present. It is fuled by a large 3120 mAh Li-Polymer non removable battery which is sufficient for one day heavy usage. There is no fast charging. The bundled charger charges @ 5V~1A.
