Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 listed on Oppomart, priced at $199.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is the upcoming Redmi smartphone people are eagerly waiting for. Redmi Note 5 is the successor of Redmi Note 4. The Redmi Note 5 has recently been listed on popular Chinese e-commerce site JD.com and now it has also been listed on Oppomart for $199. The Redmi Note 5 will be launched in China as well as India very soon.

 

Redmi Note 5 Features, Specifications, Price and Launch Date:

Redmi Note 5 will be the first near bezel less Redmi device with 18:9 aspect ratio just like Samsung Note 8, LG Q6, iPhone X and many newly launched smartphones. Redmi Note 5 will have a 5.99 inch FHD+ IPS display with 1080 x 2160 resolution. According to Oppomart's listing the Redmi Note 5 is powered by 2.0 GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset built on 14 nm architecture. This is quiet shocking regarding the fact that Redmi 4, Redmi Note 4 and many other old smartphones are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset. The Snapdragon 625 is almost one year old chipset though it is a capable processor and the battery backup is also very good due to its 14 nm architecture. Earlier rumors suggested that Redmi Note 5 will be powered by an upgraded Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset. There will be two variants of the Redmi Note 5: one with 3GB RAM and 32GB Storage another with 4GB RAM and 64GB Storage. However the storage can be expanded up to 128 using hybrid slot.

Redmi Note 5 sports a single 12MP PDAF rear camera opposed to the 16MP and 5MP dual rear camera setup according to earlier leaks. For selfies there will be an 5 MP camera. according to Oppomart, users can take self portrait shots with Redmi Note 5. It will be a good thing to have portrait mode on the upcoming Redmi Note 5 as the Redmi devices do not have portrait mode as of now. The fingerprint sensor is situated at the rear side of Redmi Note 5 just like Redmi Note 4.

Redmi Note 5 will have a large 4000 mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support. According to the rumors Redmi Note 5 will adopt USC Type ~ C for fast charging. The Redmi Note 5 has been priced at $199 though it is unclear is this the price for 3GB, 32GB variant or for the 4GB, 64GB variant. I guess the starting price of Redmi Note 5 in India will be INR 10,999.
